James J. DeVoursney, MD Named 2025 Surgeon of the Year by the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons
Boynton Beach, FL -November 6, 2025 Boynton Beach Skin proudly announces that James J. DeVoursney, MD, FAAD, has been named 2025 Surgeon of the Year by his colleagues in the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons (FSDS). The award was presented this past weekend at the Society’s annual meeting, recognizing Dr. DeVoursney’s exceptional skill, leadership, and contributions to the field of dermatologic surgery.
Dr. DeVoursney is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and Board-Certified Mohs Micrographic Surgeon who has served the South Florida community for more than 20 years, earning the trust and loyalty of countless patients. Known for his expertise in skin cancer treatment and advanced Mohs surgery, he is celebrated for delivering precise, compassionate care and consistently outstanding results.
Before earning his medical degree, Dr. DeVoursney began his career as a registered nurse, laying the foundation for his patient-centered approach. He received his M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, graduating as Chief Resident.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. DeVoursney has been the recipient of numerous honors, including the Chancellor’s Award for Academic Achievement from St. George’s University School of Medicine, the Chief Resident Award from the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, and the George Ioannides Award for Excellence in Resident Dermatology Teaching.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. DeVoursney is dedicated to education and mentorship. He teaches residents during their dermatology rotations through Baptist Health South Florida, helping train the next generation of physicians.
Dr. DeVoursney’s excellence has also been recognized nationally and locally. He is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, a Best of Palm Beach County Winner in Dermatology, and has been named a Top Doctor by U.S. News & World Report.
